About Us

The Boones Creek Historical Trust is a community collaboration between local businesses, academics, and volunteers. It is a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3, dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Boones Creek and East Tennessee.  To accomplish this goal the trust established the Museum as a depository of regional material culture and history.

The Opry began as a community effort to celebrate, study, and preserve the intangible aspects culture and folklife that are the soul of a people. The Opry provides a year-round place for community building by serving as a meeting hall, a classroom, and musical training center. The Boones Creek Opry provides local musicians a chance to learn form one another while developing a stage presence on the same stage that has been shared by many of the regions most talented performers.

The Museum and Opry are not a place where memories are stored in mothballed chambers. It is a sanctuary where history and culture are celebrated. This is an inter-generational common ground where newer generations learn where they came from, and older generations remember how to dream of the future.
