This bushel gourd drum measures 36" around and 7" high. The drum head is genuine deer hide attached with genuine sinew and is embellished with a blue fish and water motif. The tension on the drum head is held by an aluminum tone ring wrapped in leather that floats against the lower area of the drum body. Eight silver bells surround the head. The drum can be played while it rests on a surface or it can be held in the air with the attached strap. A wood and leather covered mallet is included. Set the drum in the sunshine for a few minutes to tune (warm up) the hide and get ready for a rather robust sound from this superb gourd. Grown by BCHT member, Jeff Banks. Crafted by BCHT member, Vicki Shell. Price
